Areas of Focus

Objetive:

The organizations that created the Alliance in the framework of the project “Citizen Participation, Transparency and Accountability for the Realization of Policies and Agreements for Peace in Colombia” seek, through this project and the follow-up of electoral campaigns monitoring, to qualify social control during the elections. It also intends to provide relevant information to the voter and media, as well as, to enhance citizen participation during the formulation, approval and follow-up of the Development Plan 2016-2019 and annual public budget.

Target Population:

Community organizations and student groups.

Duration:

April 2015 to 2016

Achievements:

• The Alliance held nine workshops with leaders of different districts of the city and representatives of business associations to identify the city sensitive issues and propose solutions.

• The participatory development of citizen´s agenda, to propose that candidates for Mayor be included in the government programs: their commitment with home transparency and local development as well as their contribution to address the post-conflict. Thus all the candidates for Mayor Elections are invited to schedule a meeting from 22 to 25 June at the offices of the Unidad de Accion Vallecaucana (Valle del Cauca action unit) to join this initiative.
