In an event convoking founders, allies, project participants and others close to the organization, Alvaralice Foundation celebrated its twentieth anniversary, commemorating milestones from its inception to the present. Important public figures, including Cali’s mayor, Alejandro Eder, Governor of Valle del Cauca, Dilian Francisca Toro, ex mayors Rodrigo Guerrero, Maurice Armitage and regional business leaders, were among the 260 attendees, who mingled with program beneficiaries and participants, learning how Foundation programs have positively transformed their lives.
In addition to shared moments among attendees and beneficiaries, MarÃa Eugenia Garces Echevarria, Foundation president, highlighted the organization’s major achievements over the past two decades.
The Governor of Valle del Cauca and the Mayor of Cali congratulated the Foundation’s team for their outstanding efforts, emphasizing the programs’ positive effects on the most vulnerable communities in the city and the region. Artistic presentations by Somos PacÃfico (We are the Pacific) and Casa Naranja (Orange House) delighted the audience with circus presentations, as well as art and dance featuring Colombia´s Pacific regional culture and folklore.
The celebration ended with a toast among those present, giving thanks and best wishes to all, as they work toward a more peaceful and inclusive Colombia.
