Gary Slutkin, founder of Cure Violence is a medical epidemiologist who defined violence as a health problem. In addition, Cure Violence has been classified by the publication “Global Journal” as one of the 20 NGOs more effective worldwide, whose mission is to stop the spread of violence in communities, by detecting and disrupting conflicts, identifying and treating individuals at high risk and changing social norms, resulting in reducing violence by 40 to 70%.
