Escuela Canalón de Timbiquà was the winner of the 10th Cali Civic Award. They will be receiving $13 million pesos (around USD $3.800) in seed funding to strengthen their work preserving the cultural heritage of the of Colombian Pacific Coast region through artistic, cultural and ancestral expressions. Canalón carries out workshops that focus on musical activities that use traditional afro-colombian rhythms and musical instruments to build community resilience and promote peaceful interactions among children and young people.
