Fundación Siembra Comunidad has carried out various projects in the 18th and 20th districts of Cali, seeking to promote awareness and actions aimed at social inclusion. One of these projects is the Reporteritos al Derecho initiative that since 2018 has been working with children in the Siloé neighborhood. Their objective is to prevent the recruitment and use of minors by illegal groups, such as gangs or criminals present in their neighborhoods.
The strategy of the Foundation is to use analog photography for a period of six months, so that children learn how to handle a camera, develop photographic skills and learn about children’s rights. At the end of the program, they hold an exhibition of their work focused on human rights.
This initiative was one of the winners of the special edition of the Civic Award for a Better City held in May of this year.
