The Pacific Musical Market (PMM), a platform for the promotion of the regional music industry, has positioned itself year after year as one of the musical group’s best networking tools. The sixth version of this event, promoted by the Tecnocentro Cultural Somos Pacífico, took place from August 22nd to 24th, and was supported by Comfandi, the office of the Mayor of Cali, Buenaventura Port Society Foundation, the office of the Governor of the Valle del Cauca and other various entities of the music scene.
This year, 165 musical groups from different municipalities in Colombia and other neighboring countries attended the event. Only 14 groups had the opportunity to showcase their talent and 35 were selected for the business conference.
This year’s PMM had an academic agenda, consisting of eight different activities, including panel discussions and conferences addressing current music industry topics.
Moreover, the event was attended by 50 local, national and international music empresarios and an estimated public of 500 people overall. In total, 767 business meetings were arranged during the eight-hour business conference. The Pacific Musical Market’s final results will be announced in February 2020.
