The Alvaralice Foundation was instrumental in approaching and negotiating with theMaestro Cares Foundation a grant of USD$300,000 dollars to expand services offered by  Casita de Belén, an orphanage and child protection institution in Cali.  These resources will allow this institution to enlarge its facilities and improve services to the three hundred and fifty children under their care.
Casita de Belén is an institution, located in an under-privileged neighborhood, that provides child protection services to orphaned or abandoned boys and girls. Also, they offer support to the families of the day schoolers in their life projects. The institution provides three types of services: Boarding, Day Care, and Schooling.
The Maestro Cares grant will be matched by an equivalent amount by the Fundación Obeso MejÃa of Colombia and the Fundación Antonio Obeso de Mendiola and Luz Mejia de Obeso of Panama, thus ensuring the total financing of the expansion.
