The youth association “Sembrando Ando” (or “Planting as I go”) works together with the community to develop a respectful and sustainable relationship with nature through the project “Urban biodiversity: Ways of Inhabiting the city”

Monica Rodríguez, one of the project’s coordinators, explained that she and her colleagues work with the community in a vegetable garden located at the Universidad del Valle, a local university. In this garden, Monica and her colleagues conduct workshops about chemical – free urban agriculture.

This group also works on rescuing and conserving the local stingless bees that are in danger of extinction. They are building a beehive to educate the community about environmental matters, focusing on the conservation of the species
