[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The main objective of the \u201cRumbo Joven\u201d program is the reduction of youth unemployment in the areas of the city with the highest indexes of violence, poverty and insecurity, by training them in employability skills, and assisting them in developing and implementing their life plans. This in turn enables them to find stable jobs with local and regional businesses.<\/p>\n
Currently, Fundaci\u00f3n Alvaralice\u2019s \u201cRumbo Joven\u201d program has completed its application process and began its educational activities, which last five months, and take place in the headquarters of the Tecnocentro Cultural Somos Pac\u00edfico, Fundaci\u00f3n Creeser and the Centro de Desarrollo Comunitario San Francisco de As\u00eds of the Universidad San Buenaventura, all of which are institutional allies of the program.<\/p>\n
From February through June, approximately 125 youths, residents of the Potrero Grande, Silo\u00e9 and Altos de Menga districts and their surrounding areas, will take part in the training processes to strengthen their socio-emotional and vocational skills, in addition to receiving certifications in customer service and successful money management.<\/p>\n
According to the program coordinator, Leonardo Fabio Navarro R., \u201cthe goal during these four months is to help them shape their life plans so that the skills they acquire during their training will enable them to independently seek and secure stable employment, thereby helping to promote peacebuilding in their communities.\u201d<\/p>\n
This program is made possible thanks to our alliances with donors like USAID<\/a>, ACDI\/VOCA<\/a>, Tinker Foundation<\/a>, Limmat Stiftung<\/a>, Empower<\/a>, the Office of the Mayor of Cali<\/a> through Secretariat of Economic Development<\/a> and its Territories of Inclusion and Opportunities (TIOS) Strategy,<\/a>\u00a0Fundaci\u00f3n Corona<\/a>.
