[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Civic Award \u201cFor a Better City\u201d is a program that throughout the last 13 years has sought to promote and expand the impact of innovative social initiatives, built collectively and participatively, that work hard to resolve problems that afflict Cali\u2019s citizens, generating value in a sustainable, replicable and innovative way.<\/p>\n
For its 10th<\/sup> competition, the five jurors who will select the prize winners have extensive experience and training in both academic and professional domains. All jurors are experts in their respective fields of social innovation, sustainability, social development, human development, systematization and social projects\u2019 evaluation.<\/p>\n The jurors are:<\/p>\n John Eduar Angle, Project Leader \u00a0ASCEP, ( the protection center graduates youth association, operated by the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF). Recipient of the 9th<\/sup> Civic Prize \u201cFor a Better Cali\u201d Through his work he has had the opportunity to participate in national and international arenas, coordinating his work with that of UNICEF, Doncel (Argentina), the Latin American Network of State Protection Graduates, and A Better World Foundation, among other organizations.<\/p>\n The jury will visit the 15 initiatives identified as semifinalists and will ultimately decide on ten finalists, and three winners, who will receive seed capital for their project \u00a0according to the prize category, as follows:<\/p>\n – First place: 13 million pesos \u2013 US$3,750<\/p>\n – Second place: 7 million pesos \u2013 US$2,000<\/p>\n – Third place: 5 million pesos – US$1,450<\/p>\n The five jurors participating in the tenth edition<\/u><\/strong>:<\/p>\n Roberto Andres Herrera Barriga: <\/strong>Director of International Business Specialization at the Universidad Javeriana Cali.<\/p>\n Business Administrator from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana with a Master in International Business from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain. He has extensive experience in academic management and program administration for the postgraduate and undergraduate programs, self-assessment project management and curricular reform processes in economic and administrative graduate programs. He is currently a professor at the Universidad Javeriana and the director of the university\u2019s International Business graduate studies.<\/p>\n Odilia Mayorga Isaza: <\/strong>Executive Director of the Gases de Occidente Foundation<\/p>\n Social Management Specialist, with a Master in Rural Development as well as a Master in Sustainable Development and Corporate Responsibility, with more than 20 years of experience in social work with indigenous, Afro and rural communities. She has participated in research groups focused on social innovation and the appropriation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). She has worked at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and the Presidency of the Republic, on social progress oriented projects.<\/p>\n For the past ten years she has been in private enterprise, where she promotes strategies for change around education and provincial development. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Gases de Occidente Foundation.<\/p>\n Juliana Ruiz Pati<\/strong>\u00f1<\/strong>o:<\/strong> Manager ‘Manglar Strategy, Innovation and Sustainability’<\/p>\n An anthropologist with expertise in Sustainable Development Management and eight years of experience in business and social organizations, leading strategic thinking processes, ethics, corporate responsibility and sustainability; social innovation, and social projects management and evaluation. She teaches in the master\u2019s program at the Universidad ICESI and teaches corporate training programs for various companies in the region. She is also the Sustainability Forum Coordinator at Universidad ICESI (MBA).<\/p>\n Ana Lucia Burckhardt:<\/strong> Management Consultant<\/p>\n An economist graduate of the Universidad del Valle and finance specialist from the Universidad ICESI. Over the past 21 years she has served as Revlon\u2019s Brand Manager, Marketing Manager, Assistant to the President, Manager of Corporate Marketing and International Projects Manager at Tecnoqu\u00edmicas SA. For more than 23 years, Ana Lucia has worked independently as a Strategic Management, Marketing and Sales consultant.<\/p>\n John Eduar Angulo<\/strong>: ASCEP Project Leader \u2013 Recipient of the \u2018Better City\u2019 Civic Prize (ninth version).<\/p>\n A social communicator, who has worked for six years in the field of graduating out of state protection. He began as a board member for the Education for the Future Foundation, and served as the foundation\u2019s acting director.
