As part of the commemoration of the International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women, November 25, a campaign titled “Why is it important to celebrate N25?” was launched. The initiative sought to generate reflection and make the voices of women in municipalities of Cauca and Cali heard. Forty-four responses were collected from women living in Cali, Santander de Quilichao, Puerto Tejada, Miranda, Villa Rica, Guachene and Caloto; they were seen by a total of 652 Instagram users in a single day. A video with testimonies by women from Santander de Quilichao, Villa Rica and Puerto Tejada, who shared their reasons for commemorating this important date, was also produced.

The Colomb!anas program, Empoderarte Foundation, Women’s Equity Observatory and Territorial Commitment (Compromiso Territorio) were a part of the Festival For Life in Santander de Quilichao, leading a workshop for meaningful movement, which promotes healing and female empowerment through corporal expression. The event, led by women’s groups from the northern region of the Cauca department, included activities such as music, panel discussions and markets, to promote respect, equality and general wellbeing of women.
