In March the ‘Rumbo Joven’ program—led by the Alvaralice Foundation—began its activities with fifty-three young people who started a five-month training process that will take place at the Somos Pacífico Cultural Center in east Cali. This year the program has been made possible thanks to the support of the Alvaralice and EMpower Foundations, as well as strategic alliances with Comfandi, Somos Pacífico, and Fundación WWB Colombia.

This year the foundation has been planning  a hybrid model in order to ensure that health protocols and measures will reduce the spread of Covid-19. Currently, participants are working on socio-emotional and occupational skills training. They will then work on developing technical skills and consequently initiate a  job selection processes to find formal jobs.

The program expects to find jobs within three months for  60% of the participants who complete their training process. The work carried out by the job-placement team is fundamental for this goal as it links the private sector and the communities that are part of the program.
