Rumbo Joven is a program that seeks to increase Cali’s young, vulnerable population access to formal employment by providing training, guidance and support in their life plan in order to achieve employment in regional businesses.
This program is supported by several organizations, including USAID, ACDI / VOCA, Tinker Foundation, Limmat Stiftung, EMpower, Corona Foundation and the Alvaralice Foundation. In order to implement the program in several neighborhoods of Cali partnerships were created with the Tecnocentro Cultural Somos Pacífico, the San Buenaventura University, Comfandi and the CreeSer, SIDOC and WWB Colombia Foundations.
On September 26th, Mr. Christopher Saenger, USAID’s Program Director, and representatives of ACDI/VOCA’s local team visited the Rumbo Joven program which they have supported since 2017. They had the opportunity to listen to some of the participants’ testimonies, which reinforced the positive results of their training.
During his visit, Mr. Saenger toured the Somos Pacífico Tecnocentro and had the opportunity to observe the various programs’ activities.
