The municipality of Jamundà has become the newest venue for the Youth on Course (Rumbo Joven) employability program. This is the first time the program has been launched outside of Cali, and is a significant milestone in the program’s expansion, which has benefitted 2000 youth in the city of Cali since its 2014 outset.
The Jamundà kickoff showcases commitment to meeting specific needs of youth in different regions of Valle del Cauca. The program not only opens doors to new opportunities, but also encourages inclusion and local economic development, reducing informal labor among the younger population.
In alliance with Commitment to Valle, opportunities for synergy with the private sector will be sought, to promote collaboration with local businesses willing to promote training and employment for youth. By implementing Youth on Course (Rumbo Joven) in JamundÃ, young people will receive training and acquire work skills which will allow them to effectively become part of the formal labor market. By strengthening their capacities, Jamundà will not only drive economic development, but lay the foundation for a more promising and sustainable future for Valle del Cauca youth.
